I worked in After Effects for about a week, learning new tools and shortcuts to streamline the editing process. Once I had a good grasp of the software, I added my assets to the program and began pinning the timing in various areas to ensure a smooth movement of my background. However, I had to keep going into each file to track the background movement so it perfectly aligned with the movement in my stop-motion.
I soon accepted that I was not going to get it perfect, but if I tested different timings and added different effects, I could get it to a space I was exceptionally happy with.
I had the help of technicians, the university, and my peers when I felt I was getting stuck or needed advice on whether there was a smoother or easier way to address an issue I was facing.
I learnt so much about After Effects and found it relatively easy to use, with various tools to improve your film.
