AUDIO
Like the visuals in our project, both me and my teammate worked on different aspects of the audio. Whilst I worked on the fisherman’s audio, my teammate worked on the sound effects of the water.
We hit a variety of challenges; our first one being collaborating with a music student who did not respond to any of our emails and another being finding audio we both liked in a sea of royalty free music that is labelled very poorly. However, even with these obstacles, we both worked hard to make sure we were happy with the end product.
My research involved talking to people who spend a large amount of their time in nature and what music genre they like to listen to. This helped me narrow down when searching for the fisherman’s song.
Once we had these audios chosen, we sat together and placed them into aftereffects, editing and distorting the sound.
We desperately wanted to make the audio individual to our project and make the audience feel as though they were diving under water. Our way of communicating this was through the visuals and the playing with timing of each frame, along with distorting the audio when under water. This worked extremely well and after meeting with our tutors, we felt as though this intent was well executed.
FINISHED IDENT
Overall, I had so much fun experimenting and learning what tools and machines I liked using. Learning a new software was extremely challenging and we were both met with serval obstacles but I thought we were really good at problem solving and finding a new route to get to our end goal.
